I spoke with Husky about the Husky Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler part # HT87076 and they stated that they do not test for a maximum tongue weight capacity on this coupler. That will be the case for most of our straight tongue trailer couplers because so long as you do not exceed the maximum trailer weight capacity of the coupler then you will be covered. I went out to our warehouse to take a look at the Buyers Products Straight Tongue Trailer Coupler # 3370091562 you referenced and I measured a distance of right at 7/8" from the inside top of the coupler down to the center of the mounting holes.

I measured the Buyers Products Auto Latch Straight Tongue Trailer Coupler # 3370091562 and on the linked photo you will see that the height from the bottom of the cast ball coupler up to the top of the latch arm is 4-inches. When the spring-loaded latch is raised to release the coupler from the hitch ball the top of the latch arm will be 4-3/4-inches above that same reference point.

Center on center, they're going to be separated by 3 inches and the mounting holes are going to have a diameter of 1/2 inch. I went out to the warehouse to take some measurements of the Titan Zinc-Plated Straight-Tongue Coupler # T4853100 for you. Based on the measurements, the Titan # T4853100 will not fit into a 4 inch square tube.
The width of the coupler is 3-3/8 inches. The height of the channel is 4 inches. From the back to the start of the weld measures 9-1/2 inches long, and overall the coupler measures 16-1/2 inches long.

There are three sizes of hitch ball that are all in the same general size ballpark: 1-7/8-inch, 50mm and 2-inch. If your coupler has an adjustment option that may do the trick, but if not you may want to replace the coupler with one that does indicate the correct ball size. This is typically stamped on the coupler as a safety requirement (thank you for checking your coupler for this information). We do offer coupler rebuild kits but nothing for Hadco.

You will want to measure the size of your trailer tongue to determine what size hinged coupler kit is needed. The hinged coupler kits fit the 2 x 3 inch, 3 x 3 inch, 3 x 4 inch, and 3 x 5 inch tongue size.
